Samantha Monday started Taekwondo in May 1993 in Knoxville, TN. She was forced to start by her grandfather, who felt it would be good for a teenager to learn to defend herself. By the time she was a yellow belt, the marital arts had become part of who she was. She began teaching the low rank kids class at the age of 13. She worked hard to earn her First Degree Black Belt in 1994 at the age of 14. In 1997, she began working at the Lenoir City, TN school and working toward her Second Degree Black Belt. In 1999, she attended the ATA's certified instructor camp in Little Rock, AR and earned her instructor certification. In the tournament season of 2000-2001 for the ATA/STF/WTTU she competed for the title of World Champion and finished 4th. In October 2001, she started laying the ground work for the beginnings of Visions Black Belt Academy. In March of 2002 she started teaching at the Pigeon Forge Community Center in Pigeon Forge, TN. In September 2003, she moved the school to its present location. Miss Monday earned her Fourth Degree Black Belt in the Spring of 2006.
